Let's Declare
WAR on the WAR against WAR!!

This exhibition featured some new
works expressing ideas related to World politics and relationships
between peoples. My art is pure expression of experiences, observations
and learning but the contrast between experienced reality and the reality
taught or imagined seems to be increasing. I am looking for answers and
would love your opinion...
Is New Zealand still isolated and safe?
Or are we in danger of attack? From who?
Is there good vs. bad - right vs.
wrong? Who is which? Who cares?
Who is "the west" - are we (ie. New
Zealanders)? What does that mean to you?
In 2006, I exhibited beautiful NZ
scenery and holiday scenes from first hand experience and this year I am
painting war and death because I feel the need to express myself on events
that have touched me - not directly but emotionally. This exhibition is
the juxtaposition of physical reality and media-inspired imagined reality
and a critique of global politics.
